Thank you. I love that rhyme too, so it was really good to be able to use it. You can trace it back at least to the sixteenth century.
My interest in folklore has not been entirely wasted.
I still salute them… I’m not sure why… some superstition that I’ve never questioned. Not a big one… just a little semi-conscious gesture. But there must be some folkloric reasoning behind that, offsetting bad luck or something.
